Color and paint schemes

At Art-W Studio, we recently completed a challenging and exciting project: the creation and painting of the heroes of the Votann Leagues. This project included iconic figures such as Uthar the Fated, Kahl, Champion Einhir, Grimnyr, Ironmaster Brokhyr and six robots, each meticulously assembled and painted to our client’s specifications.
The requested color scheme was particularly interesting: a base of black and turquoise, accented with military greens and a purplish red for details. Additionally, vibrant green and blue highlights were integrated, creating a palette inspired by the Great League of Thuria and the Egemony of Khronus. This scheme was uniformly applied to all the miniatures, adapting it to highlight the individual characteristics of each one.
The bases also played a crucial role in this project, set in a wooded space that perfectly complements the colors of the miniatures. Uthar received a premium stand with 3D printed bits, while the rest of the figures were placed on detailed stands that add an Ornate touch to the set. Attention to detail was key, starting with precise assembly that ensured each piece was burr-free and perfectly assembled.
The robots were painted at level Game, providing a high level of detail in an efficient time. In contrast, the hero figures were painted at a premium level, allowing a greater focus on fine details and lighting effects. The bases were finished with wet mud, green bushes and reddish autumn leaves, providing an attractive visual contrast that enhances the miniatures.

Heroes in the Forest: The Miniatures of Votann Leagues

Our client found Art-W Studio by searching the internet for miniature painting services. After seeing our previous work, he was impressed with the quality and detail of our pieces. He contacted us with a clear idea: he wanted us to paint the heroes of the Votann Leagues, including Uthar the Fated, Kahl, Champion Einhir, Grimnyr, Ironmaster Brokhyr and six robots.
The requested color scheme was an exciting challenge: black and turquoise as the main colors, with accents of military green and purplish red. In addition, he wanted vibrant green and blue highlights, inspired by the Great League of Thuria and the Egemony of Khronus. He asked us for the bases to reflect a wooded environment, with a premium base for Uthar that included 3D printed elements.
The client wanted a premium quality finish for the heroes and a high level of playability for the robots. He provided us with a clear vision of what he expected, and we rose to the challenge, ready to bring his vision to life with our unique and detailed touch.

The Heroes of the Votann Leagues: A Journey of Painting and Creativity

The process for this project was meticulous and detailed. Pedro, our production manager, began by assembling each miniature individually, making sure to remove any burrs. The miniatures were placed on cork to create a raised ground, anticipating the final finish of the bases.
We selected a Brokhyr Ironmaster robot as a sample miniature and, after the client’s approval, proceeded with the painting of the rest. Pedro used airbrush to apply the black and turquoise base colors throughout the army. The robots were painted at game level first, being completed in one session.
For the heroes, Pedro and Paco worked as a team, focusing on the details of each figure. The heads were painted separately for better control of the airbrush. The bases were decorated with wet mud, green bushes and reddish autumn leaves, creating a visual contrast that complements the colors of the miniatures.
We kept the client informed with daily progress photos, showing each stage of the process. This constant communication allowed the client to closely follow the development of the project and adjust according to their preferences, ensuring a final result that exceeded their expectations.
