In our latest project, we faced the challenge of taking the most iconic heroes of the World Eaters to the next level. This assignment was one of the most intense we’ve done at Art-W Studio. We were asked to create a brutal and bloody scene that reflected the essence of this feared army. All of them converted and painted with an attention to detail worthy of Khorne himself.

From the very beginning, we knew that the conversions would be essential to bring these miniatures to life. Angron was one of the key pieces; we modified his pose to capture a frenzy of fury, with his hands outstretched and weapons pinned to the ground. To add more drama, his base was adorned with space marine skulls and corpses. The Maulerfiend also received a significant conversion with the addition of a rider, achieving a more imposing presence on the battlefield.

The color scheme chosen is classic World Eaters: blood red armor, bronze gold trim and details splattered with plenty of blood. The bases, crafted to an ornate and premium level, recreate a scene of pure carnage, full of skulls and pools of blood. We used 3D printing to add custom details, from demonic hands for Angron to skulls for the bases, ensuring that each miniature not only meets expectations, but exceeds them.

This project was not only a technical challenge, but an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the brutality of the World Eaters, creating a set that perfectly reflects the brutality and bloodlust of this legendary army.

The Creation of a Feared Army: World Eaters

The client found us after exploring several options in search of a studio that could realize his vision for a truly brutal World Eaters army. He contacted us after viewing our online portfolio, where he was impressed with our skills in premium level miniature conversions and painting. From the outset, he made it clear that he wanted a special project: the creation of a group of heroes that would embody the fury and bloodlust of Khorne.

He commissioned six key miniatures from us: Angron, Lord on Juggernaut, Khârn the Betrayer, a Maulerfiend with rider, a Daemon Prince and a Master of Executions. His request was clear: each miniature was to have a distinctive color scheme, dominated by blood red and bronze gold, with blood effects to enhance the brutality of the set. In addition, he asked us for a special conversion for Angron, inspired by a work he had seen, and a significant modification for the Maulerfiend, adding a rider to enhance its ferocity on the battlefield.

We accepted the challenge with enthusiasm, knowing that we had the opportunity to create something truly spectacular that would exceed our client’s expectations.

The Birth of Brutal Heroes: A World Eaters Project

From day one, we fully immersed ourselves in the project, maintaining constant communication with the client. Every step of the process was carefully documented and shared through daily photos, making sure we were aligned with their vision. We started with the conversions, where Angron was the undisputed star. We modified his pose to capture his full fury, 3D printing demonic hands and placing them in an aggressive pose. The client was fascinated to see his idea take shape in our daily updates.

We then moved on to the other miniatures, such as the Maulerfiend, to which we added a rider to make it even more imposing. Every detail was meticulously fine-tuned, from the alternate heads to the 3D printed miniature accessories. Painting was also an exciting process; we used airbrushing for the base coats and followed up with precise details in gold and bronze, all while maintaining the World Eaters’ signature bloody touch.

The client enthusiastically welcomed each progress, especially when we got to the final stages of painting miniatures, where the blood effects and grimdark details really brought the miniatures to life. It was an intense journey, but seeing the client’s satisfaction with every photo submitted made it worth every minute spent.
