Company Heroes

    Company Heroes
    Color and paint schemes

In this new project, we have been faced with an assignment as exciting as it is challenging. It is the creation and painting of five Company Heroes for a successor chapter of the Iron Hands, with a unique concept that challenges the traditional principles of their progenitor. These warriors adopt the motto “Flesh is Strong”, breaking with the classic philosophy of technological dependence that defines the Sons of Manus Ferrus.
Our work has not only consisted of assembling these impressive miniatures, but we have also made use of custom 3D printed bits to give each hero a distinctive character. From helmets to firing effects, everything has been carefully selected to achieve the customer’s exact vision. In addition, we have crafted premium level bases, set in the remains of a destroyed urban city, with gray tones and green undergrowth that highlight the war context of these figures.
As for the painting, we have followed a dark color scheme with a predominance of black and purple in the armor, accompanied by white details, such as the aillas and trim. This contrast accentuates the toughness and elegance of these marines, giving them an imposing presence on the battlefield. All the painting has been executed at a premium level, taking care of every detail with precise light ups and OSL (simulated light sources) effects. As a final touch, we have added freehand work on some miniatures, combining creativity and precision.
This project has not only been a technical challenge, but an opportunity to explore individuality and customization in miniatures, merging tradition and rupture in every brushstroke.

Painting an Iron Hands Successor Chapter

Our client got to know us thanks to recommendations from other modeling enthusiasts, and after reviewing our online portfolio, he decided to contact us with a rather special assignment. He had created a successor chapter to the Iron Hands with a very interesting narrative: his warriors advocated that “flesh is strong”, challenging the traditional reliance on bionic enhancements.
The brief was to create and paint five Company Heroes that reflected that idea. He asked us to use a specific color scheme, with black and purple armor and white accents, that would give a solemn and powerful image to these space marines. He also wanted the bases to have a particular look, representing the remains of a ruined city.
The client had some very clear ideas about customizing the miniatures, so he requested that we use 3D printed bits to make sure that each hero had a unique touch. In addition, he asked us to add lighting effects and freehand details in certain parts, so that the figures would really stand out on any gaming table.

Company Heroes Armor: Color, Technique and Style

From the beginning of this project, we maintained constant communication with the client, sending them daily progress photos. We started with 3D bit printing to make the conversions, which allowed us to customize each of the five Company Heroes according to their vision. Each piece was carefully chosen to give them that unique touch, from the helmets to the firing effects, always seeking the client’s approval at every step.
Once the conversions were completed, we started the painting process. We started with the black armors, working on the tones and applying blue highlights to give them a more realistic look. Then we moved on to the purple areas, using airbrushing for a smooth, even finish. As we progressed, we showed the client how the white details and decorations were taking shape, fine-tuning the small nuances.
The next step was the creation of the bases, where we built a ruined city using cork and 3D printed tiles. Finally, we applied the OSL effects and added the freehand details, meeting the premium level that the client had requested. Each update was key to ensuring that we were capturing their vision perfectly.
