Knights Cerastus Army
Color and paint schemes
This project has been a unique adventure for us at Art-W Studio. The assignment was to bring to life a complete army of Knights Cerastus and Armigers, with the exciting particularity that our client did not want to see any previews. Thus, we have worked with total creative freedom, something that has allowed us to explore our artistic vision to the fullest.
Each of the miniatures has been assembled with surgical precision, ensuring that the Armigers have all the armament options thanks to magnetization systems.
For the paint scheme, we went for a weathered, characterful aesthetic: metallic armor covered in an intense rust that evokes years of battles in damp and hostile environments. The chassis combine a bone color as a base with differentiated primary shades (blue, red and green) depending on the group of miniatures, achieving a perfect balance between cohesion and personality.
The scenery is completed with premium bases, set in wooded terrain full of bushes, mud, stagnant water and barbed wire. Everything is designed to give an impressive realism, integrating military and natural elements. This army not only tells war stories, but conveys the rawness of survival in devastated battlefields.

Earth, Mud and Metal: The Strength of the Forgotten Knights
Our client came to us with an exciting idea: he wanted a complete Knights army, but he gave us an unexpected twist right from the start. Although we had worked together on previous projects, this time he wanted something different. He asked us to take the creative reins completely.
The only condition was to maintain the surprise. There would be no progress images, no previews, no clues. He wanted to open the package and discover for the first time the final result. This total freedom is a dream for any artist, and we knew we would have to take full advantage of it to create something truly spectacular.
The commission included three Cerastus Knights, six Armigers and a Moirax, all assembled and painted to the highest standard. For the scheme, there were no concrete rules beyond our own ideas. Knowing his style and tastes from previous projects, we decided to go for an aesthetic marked by wear and detail: rust, warm and cold contrasts, and a wooded terrain setting.

The Army that Emerged from Imagination
This project was different from the beginning. The client’s request to keep the progress secret led us to document the process for ourselves, making sure to follow a detailed and consistent plan. So, from assembly to the final paint effect, each step was a work of coordination and creativity.
We started with a sample miniature to define the color scheme and techniques to be used. Once approved internally, we moved on to assembly, magnetizing the Armigers’ weapons to give them maximum versatility. Then, we airbrushed the structures, achieving a metallic finish that we would later cover with rust effects that provide an impressive realism.
When painting the chassis, each painter took a group: blue, red and green, always keeping the bone color as a common thread. Details such as gold trim, chipping effects and Mechanicum symbols were added with precision to enhance the character of each miniature.
The bases, a mix of wooded terrain and military elements, put the finishing touch. Everything was assembled to achieve a perfect cohesion between the groups, ready to impress. This project has been a unique experience, and we are looking forward to the customer’s feedback.
