Farsight Great Army
Color and paint schemes
In Art-W Studio we have just completed one of our most colossal projects: a T’au army of the Farsight Enclaves. This impressive collection includes more than 100 miniatures, including iconic figures such as Commander Farsight, a Ghostkeel Battlesuit and a large group of Crisis Battlesuits. Each of these pieces was assembled and painted with a level of detail that reflects both their scale and narrative importance.
The color scheme, inspired by the classic tones of the Farsight Enclaves, is a symphony of vibrant reds, sleek blacks and stunning golds. This palette, meticulously applied at game level and with ornate finishes, ensures that the army is as uniform as it is spectacular. The bases, created in 3D resin, represent an industrialized world within the T’au expansion sphere. Their dark gray tones, with red and black accents, harmonize perfectly with the armor, adding depth and visual coherence.
The most distinctive element of the project was the customization of Commander O’shova’s base. We transformed the cherry tree on his stand into a garden protected by an energy shield, masterfully integrating the T’au theme with a unique narrative detail.
Every phase, from assembly to final painting, was designed to maintain uniformity in a project of this magnitude. The result? An army that not only dominates the battlefield, but also captivates the beholder.

Customer briefing
From the Shadows: The Arrival of the Behemoth Tyranids
The client came to us looking to bring to reality a Farsight Enclaves army that was as impressive as it was functional on the battlefield. He had already seen some of our previous projects and, after researching our work, he contacted us with a very clear idea in mind: he wanted an army fully assembled and painted in the iconic Farsight colors, taking care of every detail to convey the essence of the T’au lore.
From the very beginning, he made it clear to us that the homogeneity of the color scheme was crucial. Each miniature was to sport the vibrant red characteristic of the enclaves, with black and gold accents to highlight the technological aesthetics of the army. In addition, he insisted that the bases be set in an industrialized world of the expansion sphere, something we solved by designing custom bases with 3D resin.
A special detail was the Commander Farsight base. The client wanted this piece to stand out, but without clashing with the rest of the army. Thus was born the idea of the zen garden protected by an energy field, an element that combined narrative and aesthetics in a unique way.

From the First Sketches: Building the Hive
The process of bringing this Farsight Enclaves army to life was as exciting as it was meticulous. We started with the assembly of all the miniatures, making sure that each piece was perfectly assembled to withstand further treatment. While this was happening, one of the painters on the team was busy creating a sample color scheme. After receiving the client’s approval, we gave the green light for the mass painting.
The painting began with a uniform primer and an airbrush application of dark red tones and gradients to a bright red. This initial approach allowed us to maintain consistency throughout the army. Next, we added the white, black and metallic details by brush, a job that required precision and patience. Each lens was treated with care, using a bright turquoise green combined with OSL lighting effects to give a futuristic and dynamic touch.
The bases were left for last, painted with dark gray tones and details in red, black and gold. Commander Farsight’s zen garden was one of our favorite stages, adding a unique touch that combined narrative and creativity. Throughout the project, the client received regular updates, seeing their vision take shape step by step.
