Color and paint schemes

In this new project, we embarked on the creation of an imposing army of Battle Sisters, where the Emperor’s sacred fire burns in every miniature. This commission included an impressive collection of models: from a majestic Saint Celestine and a mighty Imperial Knight, to a full regiment of units such as Battle Sisters, Seraphim and Zephyrim, among others. Each miniature features unique details that reflect their devotion to the Emperor.
The color scheme chosen combines gleaming white armor, deep red clothing and gold accents, with a signature element: incandescent fire effects emanating from their weapons, bodies and eyes. The bases, designed to simulate a wasteland of ash, complete the setting, creating a visually coherent and epic environment.
To achieve this result, we made the complete assembly of the miniatures and added custom 3D printed elements, such as small flames and exclusive bits to convert some pieces. The painting, at an ornate and premium level, highlights every detail with precision, while the textured and painted bases add depth to the whole. This project required not only technical skill, but also extreme care in the OSL (simulated lighting) effects, essential to bring to life the sacred fire that surrounds this army.

Armaduras de Fuego: Pintando la Devoción del Emperador

The client came to us looking for something more than just miniature painting. He had heard about our work through a hobby friend and, after seeing our projects, he decided to trust the studio to bring his idea to life: an army of Battle Sisters like never seen before.
His vision was clear and ambitious. She wanted a color scheme that conveyed purity and fervor: impeccable white armor, red robes and golden details. But what really made this commission special was his request for incandescent effects. Each miniature was to appear to be lit from within by the Emperor’s flames, with details ranging from flaming weapons to eyes glowing with fiery light.
In addition, he requested that the bases reflect a wasteland of ash, with dark tones and reddish glows to add drama to the set. If that wasn’t enough, he asked that we incorporate flames and custom 3D printed elements to reinforce the army’s narrative.

About Burning Ashes: How This Army of Sisters Was Born

From the beginning, this project captivated us with its level of detail and the creativity it demanded. Each day of work was another step towards an army that seems to burn with the Emperor’s light.
The first challenge was to define the color scheme and the bases. After sending the client the first sample miniature, we got his approval with some adjustments to the bases: the bases were enriched with textures and a subtle play of reddish lights that evoked incandescent ash.
The assembly of the miniatures was meticulous, including 3D printing of custom bits for flames and conversions. The painting process began with airbrushing for the general underpinnings, followed by careful brush strokes to define every detail. The OSL effects of the flames, done at the end, added the magical touch that connects each figure to its environment.
During the process, we sent daily photos to the client, sharing each progress. Seeing how enthusiastically he responded motivated us even more.
