Blood and Sand: Building an Army of World Eaters

The commission came to us from a collector with a passion for World Eaters, who was looking for more than just a painted army. He wanted a work that reflected the brutality and history of these ruthless troops of Khorne, all set in an arid desert landscape.
The client asked us to paint 20 Berzerkers, with their characteristic red and gold scheme, and 20 Jackals, with darker tones that would highlight their more shadowy and stealthy nature. Although the two units had different styles, it was imperative that together they formed a cohesive army, something we achieved with details such as blood effects and desert bases.
In addition, he brought his own miniatures, but warned us that they needed some work before starting. He asked us not to skimp on effects and details, especially on the bases, so that they would reflect the violence of the battlefield. With this premise, we accepted the commission with enthusiasm, ready to bring his vision to life.

Shadows and Blood: The Jackals and Berzerkers of Khorne

The process of this project was as intense as it was exciting, and we wanted the client to be involved in every step. From the beginning, we created color samples for the Khorne Berzerkers and the Jackals. Both schemes, although different, had to be unified to tell the same story, and the client quickly approved our proposals.
Assembly was the first challenge, as the miniatures they provided us with needed some work. After leaving them in perfect condition, we divided the work: the Berzerkers, painted at a ornate level, were worked in blocks of ten, taking care of every detail of their iconic red and gold armor. The Jackals, painted at game level, were treated with the same attention so that their pale skin and dark clothes would have the desired impact.
The bases were the final touch. We combined sandy textures, warm pigments and details such as dry bushes to reflect the desert environment. Each day, we sent photos to the client, showing progress and making sure we were aligned with their vision.
