Chaos Knights Army
Color and paint schemes
At Art-W Studio we faced one of our most exciting challenges: to bring to life an army of Chaos Knights Army inspired by the tones and symbology of Eris, the goddess of discord. Each miniature, from assembly to final finish, has been meticulously crafted to unify the chaotic aesthetic in all the pieces, regardless of their loyal or chaotic origin.
We used a color scheme centered on deep reds and blacks, tinged with antique gold trim that adds a touch of dark, mysterious luxury. The paint was applied at the game level with techniques that especially highlighted the incandescent effects in reds and oranges, which enhances the hellish presence of each knight on the battlefield. Through layers of shadow and dirt on the chassis, we managed to convey the essence of worn and battle-hardened war machines.
To achieve the desired atmosphere, we immersed ourselves in the world of 3D printing, creating elements to complete the visual effect of the bases. Among rocks and broken Doric style columns, we managed to recreate an urban atmosphere inspired by Greek ruins, evoking a scenario of war between nature and the ruins of ancient civilizations. With a dark earth texture finish, and a varied vegetation decoration, the terrain adds the final touch to this chaotic army that has taken shape in such an imposing way, ready to sow discord and chaos in any battlefield.

Customer briefing
Chaos Forgers: An Army with the Power of Ruins
This client found us after researching several painting studios looking for a team capable of handling a large project. After reviewing some of our previous projects and seeing our attention to detail, he decided to contact us. His idea was to create an army of Chaotic Knights with a color scheme that reflected the strength and chaos of the goddess Eris. He gave us a clear concept: he wanted red and black tones in the armor, accompanied by touches of aged gold, to represent the mystique of this army in the service of the ruinous powers.
In addition, I had a special request: I wanted each knight to have a unique and elaborate base, set in classical ruins inspired by ancient Greece. This way, the chaotic army would feel like it was in a devastated setting, a virgin world overrun by war machines. Our challenge was to merge all these elements into a coherent and powerful visual whole, while maintaining the aesthetics and atmosphere I wanted.

When Chaos Comes to Life: Process of an Epic Project
From day one, we made sure that the client was part of the process. We started with the assembly of the miniatures and the magnetization of the pieces, sending him photos of how each knight was taking shape. The incorporation of 3D elements, such as Doric-Classical columns, was a great first step that he loved and gave him even more confidence in the project.
When it came to painting, we showed him the scheme on a test miniature: a War Dog in deep reds and deep blacks, with gold trim. Each image allowed him to visualize how the dark tones and wear details were adding character. With each update, his excitement grew as he saw the progress, from the incandescent highlights to the rust effects on the chassis.
Finally, the bases were the icing on the cake. The photos revealed an uneven terrain of texture and vegetation, with remnants of Greek ruins at each base. With each preview we shared, the client could see how his army was taking shape, and how each detail added a unique touch of chaos and realism.
