Color and paint schemes
At the Art-W Studio workshop, we recently brought to life an epic project that immersed us in the unparalleled universe of Warhammer 40,000. The Leviathan box, with its brave White Scars space marines and the fearsome Tyranids of the Khorkhoi Hive Fleet, was the canvas for our creativity.
The cast of miniatures that make up this masterpiece is impressive: from the imposing NeuroTyrant to the agile Termagants, each piece was meticulously selected. Following the client’s indications, we plunged into the challenge of painting with green skin and red carapace, although we decided to give it a unique twist with orange hues, inspired by the emblematic Kraken hive fleet.
As for the environment, the bases were not just a detail; they were the culmination of a journey. Using AK’s dark earth texture, we managed to create the feeling of a mysterious forest, splashing them with brown and greenish pigments. Each base tells its own story, adding depth to the miniatures that crown them.
From the meticulous initial assembly, performed by a dedicated team of three, to the painting of the game level and bases, each step was carefully executed.

Facing Darkness with the Khorkhoi Hive Fleet
The client’s journey towards the creation of the Khorkhoi Hive Fleet began after the exciting release of Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition. Immersed in the vision of the Leviathan box, our strategist discovered us at Art-W Studio, eager to materialize his painted epic.
The plot unravels when our client, immersed in the Warhammer universe, contacted us with a clear project in mind: the painting of the complete Leviathan box. His request was clear and exciting: the White Scars chapter for the space marines and a custom hive fleet of Tyranids. The color directions were simple: green skin and red carapace, a challenge we enthusiastically embraced, taking it to the next level with orange hues inspired by the Kraken hive fleet.
From the first contact, this strategist showed that his project went beyond simple miniatures; it was a visual narrative that we were excited to unravel.
