Burning Sword, Unbreakable Honor: Transforming the Solar Lord

They met us through one of our previous projects, and when our client decided to embark on this idea, he did not hesitate to contact us. His proposal was ambitious: to transform a Solar Lord Leontus into a leader of the Krieg Death Korps and create a command squad to match. From the outset, he conveyed his passion and an enviable level of detail.
The brief was clear, but challenging. The Lord Solar had to have a special head that reflected his authority and belonging to Krieg, so he asked us to explore several 3D printed options to choose the best one. In terms of paint, he wanted a dark, desaturated scheme, with meticulous camouflage and effects that spoke of a team weathered on the most unforgiving battlefields.
The bases were also a crucial element: I wanted them to represent classic trenches, complete with mud, snow and barbed wire. It wasn’t just about bases, but scenarios that captured the rawness of war. Thus, he gave us the keys to one of the most interesting projects we have done, full of possibilities to combine technique, this Lord Solar Korps forces is creativity and passion.

Death in the Trenches: A Narrative of Sills and Painting

The development of this project was a fascinating journey that allowed us to explore every detail with the client. We started with the centerpiece, the Lord Solar. After assembling his base body, we 3D printed several heads in resin to evaluate the best option: from classic Korps designs to an imposing Commissar mask. After discussion with the customer, we decided on the latter, making sure it would fit naturally on the miniature.
The Command Squad was then assembled, taking care of every detail to ensure that it maintained aesthetic coherence with the Lord Solar. Once the miniatures were ready, we moved on to the bases, building raised trenches with weathered wood, barbed wire and mud and snow textures. The client was fascinated by this part, especially how it captured the atmosphere he wanted.
During the painting, we kept the client informed with regular photos, showing him the progress on the camouflage bases, wear details and dirt effects on the armor. When we finished the fiery sword and the finishing touches on the Lord Solar, the excitement was mutual. Each advancement reinforced his vision, and in the end, we got a set that exceeded expectations.
