Metallic Red Custodes
Color and paint schemes
In our last project at Art-W Studio, we had the privilege of working on an exceptional collection of Adeptus Custodes miniatures. This commission was not only a technical challenge, but also an opportunity to explore the greatness of the Imperium of humanity. The army is composed of iconic figures. Each of these miniatures has been meticulously assembled and painted to a premium level that highlights their magnificence.
The color scheme chosen is a stunning metallic crimson red, complemented by gold accents that evoke the majesty of the Empire. This brilliance is combined with source lighting effects (OSL) in a captivating turquoise blue, which bring an air of dynamism to the figures, especially the mounted unit. The bases, which simulate a ruined imperial palace, have been 3D printed and decorated to mimic a devastated ecclesiastical environment, with toppers depicting chaos and destruction.
The level of detail in this project has been exceptional. From the initial assembly of the miniatures, which was carried out with precision, to the creation of elements such as explosions and firing effects, every aspect has been conceived with the utmost care. The painting of the miniatures and bases has followed an ornate and premium standard, ensuring that each figure is not just a miniature, but a battle-ready work of art.

Under the Crimson Sky: The Forge of the Custodes
Our recent project started with a passionate client who found Art-W Studio while looking for a specialized service for his Adeptus Custodes army. Upon seeing our previous works, he was inspired and decided we were the perfect team to bring his vision to life.
He asked us to work on a set of miniatures that included Trajann Valoris and several units of Custodes, highlighting three Vertus Praetors on their Dawn Eagle Bikes. What really stood out in their commission was the choice of a bold color scheme: armor in a radiant metallic crimson red, with fine gold accents and a touch of turquoise blue OSL.
The client had a very clear vision, looking for the bases to evoke the grandeur of a ruined imperial palace, which allowed us to challenge our creative boundaries. This commission was not only an opportunity to showcase our talent, but also to collaborate closely with a client who shared our passion for modeling and the Warhammer universe.

The Custodes of Dawn: The Collision of Colors
The process of creating this Adeptus Custodes army has been a true labor of love. From the beginning, we maintained fluid communication with our client, sending daily photos documenting the progress of their commission. Each shared image showed the stages from the initial assembly to the completion of the painting.
We started with assembly, making sure each miniature was perfectly assembled. Then, we moved on to the exciting painting phase. We applied a black base and, using airbrush techniques, began to bring the armor to life with a vibrant metallic crimson red. The photos showed how each figure was transformed into a true work of art.
We also worked on the bases, 3D printing and painting them to simulate a ruined imperial palace environment. The client’s response to each update was enthusiastic and allowed us to make adjustments that ensured their complete satisfaction. This collaborative process not only made the project dynamic, but also allowed each miniature to reflect the essence of their vision, culminating in a result that we both proudly celebrate.
