Silver Drukhari Army
Color and paint schemes
We have just completed a new challenge at Art-W Studio: an imposing Drukhari army that truly captures the dark and ruthless essence of this sinister group, each one painted with the care and precision we are known for.
The main color scheme chosen by our client reflects the brutality and pragmatism of the Drukhari. The armors have been painted in a dark silver tone, simulating the wear and tear of battle and lack of maintenance, something that resonates with the aesthetics of ruthless looters who do not care about beauty, but about efficiency in combat. The skin of the miniatures, in a pale, vampiric tone, stands out and adds a chilling contrast to the metallic darkness of the armor.
The bases of this proyect, Silver Drukhari Army, were also a key element in this project. They are set in a war-torn prairie, using brown and reddish pigments that simulate a devastated land, a detail that reinforces the gloomy atmosphere of this army.
In addition, it was decided to give a special treatment to the Incubi and the Venom transport, for which our client gave us carte blanche. We opted for a scheme in ochre tones, which evoke the appearance of old bones or aged wood, giving them a unique and differentiated look within the army.
As for finishing levels, all these miniatures have been painted at game level, except for the Archon and the Succubus, which received an Ornate level, highlighting even more their role as leaders in the battlefield.

Space Marauders: How We Created a Drukhari Army
This project started when the client, a passionate Warhammer collector, discovered us through social media. Seeing our previous work on armies from other grim worlds, he decided that Art-W Studio was the ideal team to bring his vast Drukhari collection to life.
From the beginning, the client had a clear vision: he wanted an army that reflected the brutal and pragmatic nature of the Drukhari, where the armor would be more functional than ornamental. He asked us for a color scheme focused on a dark, almost rusty silver for the armor, leaving aside any unnecessary decoration. In addition, he requested that the skins be a pale, almost ghostly tone, in keeping with the vampiric aesthetic of this race.
The client also had a special request: he wanted the Incubi and the Venom transport to have a different color scheme than the rest of the army. He gave us creative freedom, asking us for something that would make them stand out without losing coherence with the dark theme of the army. Thus, was born the idea of using ochre tones that evoke ancient bones and aged wood, bringing a unique contrast within his Drukhari force.

Darkness and Devastation: An Army in Silver and Ochre
From the beginning of the project, we made sure that the client was aware of every step of the process. We started with a thorough review of all the miniatures, correcting any imperfections and preparing the bases for painting miniatures. After this, we made a sample miniature that was key to define the final scheme.
With the client’s approval, the team split up to tackle the different parts of the army. The infantry, with its complexity in detail, was handled by two painters, while the vehicles, although numerous, were painted Silver Drukhari Army quickly and accurately. We focused on achieving that worn and weathered metal effect that is so characteristic of the Drukhari.
Each day we sent photos to the customer, showing the progress and receiving feedback in real time. This process of constant communication allowed the project to flow smoothly and details to be adjusted according to the client’s preferences. The end result was a cohesive army, with an impressive finish and true to the original vision, where each unit, from the Kabalite Warriors to the Incubi, reflects the brutality and history of countless battles.

The whole process has been an absolute pleasure. What really stands out to me is the communication with the Art-W team.
