White Scars Expansion
Color and paint schemes
This project was a double expansion of an army of White Scars, on which we worked passionately on every detail. The client commissioned us to expand their already impressive force.
The main color scheme of the white armor, with grayish shades and battle effects, is a true reflection of the relentless nature of these warriors. Vehicles, such as the Rhino and Vindicator, are marked by the wear and tear of war, with mud splattering their tracks and cannons, while red and gold details stand out among the devastation.
We have assembled all the miniatures with care and precision, not forgetting to add 3D printed bits to customize the bases. The bases have been a particularly exciting challenge: they are designed to represent an imperial city in ruins, with cracked roads and the remains of collapsed structures. This setting not only highlights the units, but also provides them with a visual narrative.
The paint level we have achieved is “Ornate”, with weathering effects, burns and OSL lights highlighting the more intricate details. The chaplains’ motorcycles in their iconic black color contrast sublimely with the rest of the army, adding a unique distinction to this expansion. In short, a project that combines visual quality and great attention to detail.

Customer briefing
Warriors among ruins: the army of White Scars
The client came to us on the recommendation of another fan, who had been delighted with a previous project. He contacted us with a clear idea in mind: a White Scars army with a strong focus on battle wear, war-scarred armor and mud-covered vehicles, all set in a crumbling cityscape. He didn’t just want a nicely painted army, but something that conveyed history and realism in each miniature.
Initially, he asked us for a small fighting force, but after seeing the result, he decided to expand it. Just as we were about to start this new phase, he asked us for a second expansion, which led us to work on both commissions at the same time. We kept his original vision, adding battle effects to the white armor, and paying special attention to the vehicles and motorcycles, which should appear to have advanced along devastated roads.
The client also asked us to customize the shoulder pads of some units with emblems from the White Scars chapter, which we achieved by using 3D printing to give it that special touch. It was an ambitious assignment that we enjoyed carrying out.

Motorcycle Chaplains and Armored Tanks: The White Scars Expansion
The process of this project went smoothly from the beginning, thanks to the fact that we had worked with this client before and knew their expectations well. We did not have to make a sample miniature, as the color scheme and battle effects were already approved. We started assembling all the miniatures, separating the bases so we could work on them separately.
As we progressed, we sent daily progress photos to the client, keeping him informed at all times. The first previews showed the miniatures already assembled and with the airbrush bases applied, ready for the finer details. Then, we moved on to work on the armor, applying shadows, damage effects and the mud touches on the vehicles.
Finally, we focused on the more specific details, such as weapons, icons and light effects on swords and energy weapons. In parallel, the bases were being completed, simulating the shattered roads and the remains of the devastated city. With each photo we sent, the client became more enthusiastic, and upon seeing the final results, the satisfaction was mutual. The whole army took shape just as we had planned.
